New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year! I've never been one for New Year's Resolutions, but for the past few years, I've written an annual list of things I'd like to accomplish in the upcoming year. Please contain your surprise, but the majority of this list has to do with food. Imagine that. Since I'm turning 35 this year, here are the 35 things I want to do in 2013.

 1.   Make pasta from scratch (like they did in the old days... with a pasta attachment on my new kitchenaid mixer)
2.     Learn to Golf
3.     Grow a vegetable garden
4.     Buy a house
5.     Finally use my passport
6.     Visit family in Pittsburgh
7.     Enter a cooking contest
8.     Spend some time at the family cabin at Seneca Lake boating and riding 4 wheelers
9.     Finally eat at M and Freshstreet Yakiatori in Double Happiness.
10.  Attend a Slow Food Columbus dinner
11.  Take a dance class
12.  Make an awesome Halloween costume
13.  Take a camera class
14.  Give blood
15.  Ride 50 miles on my bike
16.  Ride my vespa in Scoot-a-Que
17. Brew beer
18.  Get a physical/wellness exam
19.  Take a Columbus Food Tour - most likely the Alt Eats Tour because it visits some of the best ethnic food in the city
20.  Go camping at Hocking Valley Canoe Livery and take a midnight canoe ride
21.  Trace my family tree
22.  Catch and cook a fish
23.  Buy a generator and take a survival course - the result of watching a lot of Doomsday Preppers episodes
24.  Buy a sweet pair of running shoes

26.  Can homemade salsa and pasta sauce with fresh ingredients from my garden
27.  Go on a vacation with my girlfriends
28.  Swim with dolphins
29.  Watch a movie outdoors on my projector
30.  Visit the Renaissance Festival - maybe even eat a turkey leg

32.  Go snowboarding for the first time
33.  Commit to one week of detox of the following – no alcohol, caffeine or meat and work out every day
34.  Start garage sale-ing regularly again
35.  Blog more!
